Well, it is what it is. I would have much preferred some kind of project that would have brought decent jobs here but football is what we got. A bunch more McJobs picking up trash and fast food. And a lot of traffic and more drunks. Another event the locals can't afford to attend.

Oh well.

1. I'm skeptical that there is an actual NCAA by-law that prohibits events in states that have sports betting. That would rule out other states, not just Nevada. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I haven't seen anyone actually cite something.

2. The NCAA approves all bowl games (a city can't just decide that they are going to host one).

3. The CFP Championship is a creation of the 10 FBS conferences, plus Notre Dame, not the NCAA. Las Vegas will be free to submit a proposal as a future host city. I have no idea how it will be viewed by the Board of Managers that oversees the CFP, but I have attended the last two National Championship games in Tampa and Phoenix and Vegas is more than capable of being a host.

Congratulation Las Vegas Raiders with the acquisition of the Oakland Raiders I think that this is going to occurs. The city of Oakland is going to kick the Oakland Raiders out of Oakland in 2017. And you will actually experience the Las Vegas Raiders playing in Vagas starting in 2017. Politicians in Oakland started this movement yesterday they are in a hurry to get the Oakland Raiders out of Oakland California As Soon As Posible. The good people of Oakland are not going to allow the Raiders to leave them more than 2 times first time LA second time Las Vegas , and they (OAKLAND RAIDERS) are the best fans in the NFL!!!

^ Technically the best fans in the NFL are probably whichever ones agree to pay for a new stadium when a billionaire tells them to.

'Vegas Raiders' really does sound badass tho. I bet you can already get hoodies and t-shirts and such.

I HAVE NOT! PROBABLY A LOT LIKE THE DOG POUND IN CLEVELAND, WHICH I ALSO HAVE NOT SEEN FIRST HAND!

I like sports but I'm no fanatic. I think grown men acting that way is kinda lame.

Pay huge amounts of money to watch other grown men live out there dreams? No thanks.

This is not accurate. The Las Vegas Bowl is not a NCAA-sanctioned event. It is operated privately. Conferences can have a championship game here for the same reason. The CFB Playoffs and March Madness events (as well as any other similar event like NCAA Hockey playoffs) cannot be held in a state where any form of sports betting is legal, even if the betting isn't on NCAA.

That rule is not changing. NCAA even fights fantasy sports legalization.

Once again, this is not accurate. You've been corrected numerous times on this with links in this thread explaining it. Conference championships are not NCAA sanctioned or sponsored events. The anti gambling rule does not apply. The stadium could host a conference football championship game. It's no different than a UNLV home game. It cannot host a NCAA tournament game. This includes bowl the CFB Playoffs and March Madness. This is why Reno and Las Vegas never have a tournament game.

1) A Google search explains why this post is not accurate. Here is an article about how legalizing NFL and NASCAR fantasy sports through the lottery is problematic.

There are plenty of other articles about this. Oregon repealed its sports betting solely due to preferring to host NCAA events.
