I always feel better physically when I'm there. When I get home it all starts up again...

And, no, I'm not talking about the Blackjack tables. Well, maybe a little.

We retired and moved out here from MD last year. And we absolutely LOVE it!!! Something that really caught our attention once we were living here was the number of parks! There are gorgeous parks on just about every corner in this city! There are skateboard parks, dog parks, playground parks. They are all excellently maintained. I also love the way they decorate the highways with artwork and statues!

LOL. Every corner? Please. You must live in Summerlin to think this.

I like Vegas in all, but it doesn't seem like a place that would call "home". It's so touristy there all the time, has no culture, no good history, and is all about materialism and greed. Sure you can have all that, but that won't make you happy ultimately in the end.

You just described one, maybe two streets in a city with a population of 2 million. Don't let the reputation fool you.. or do.

For the 1.98 million of us who don't live on the Strip, this is home

I love Vegas. It has a pulse. It's full of variety, strangeness, and color. It never sleeps. I tend to lean toward the older homes in the better neighborhoods. Durango Pit looks like a great place to store bad politicians. There are many ethnic restaurants. I avoid the Uber Tourist spots along the strip, and go for the Wynn's quiet nooks and crannies during the slow season.

Written by someone who obviously has never set foot off the Strip while in Las Vegas.

You do know there's more to Vegas than the strip don't you? Venture out further than Mandalay Bay or the Stratosphere. You might be surprised!

+1. Been here 6 years now and my wife and I discussed how the parks here are way better compared to anything back in DC area. The Kellogg-Zaher Sports Complex off Washington is amazing with over a dozen soccer fields that are lit, full USTA training center with over 20 courts including a centre court below the ground, full walking/biking trail and plenty of parking.

If people would go explore the city they would find it offers a lot more than assumed.
