We rode up past the Sahara last week on the Deuce. Sure was sad to see the fencing
round the place, and the unlit sign.

I wish them the best of luck in rehabing the old Sahara. The town and that part of the strip sure would benefit by the project!
What I would really like to see if for someone like Hilton purchase the Fountainbleau site and open that property. Seems to me if Hilton is closing the current building that they would want a hotel on the strip. With the economy the way it is, it probably won't happen for a while, still it would be nice and a benefit to our economy.

Our office used to be pretty much right there. Not sure why it's "depressing," though. It has a Smith's, Chase and U.S. Bank (we use both, so it was handy), several fast food joints... Convenient, yes. Depressing?

Its depressing because that area is so slummy and ghetto as are MOST (not all) areas almost anywhere east of rainbow

Though I will admit yes there is a lot going at at Sahara and Maryland, definitely more than Sahara and Decatur for sure, but still, a majority of areas east of Rainbow arent very good

Funnily enough JFK, I thought something similar as we went by. I looked at the empty
Sahara towers and said to Judy "they could use those towers to house some homeless
people." But, I looked at some of the other occupied towers nearby and thought those
people probably would'nt be impressed if that happened.

I wish they would do something with that area... I mean it seems prime, but it definitely need about a billion dollars or more of investment.

I'd like to see the stripe extend northward... with quality.
