J. C. Pendleton was born in Kentucky in 1847.

Moved to Independence at age 13 and finished his education.

Entered the drug business at his present location (not given) where he occupies a 25X62 foot brick building.

Carries a large stock of drugs, medicines, paints, oils, fancy goods, etc.

History of Jackson County, 1881.

O.H. Gentry of the Pendleton and Gentry drug store was elected treasurer of Jackson County three times. In 1916 he was elected Jackson County sheriff.

J.C. Pendleton died on February 20, 1913, in his apartments at the Metropolitan Hotel, Independence, Mo., after an illness of two weeks. National Association of Retail Druggists, March 13, 1913.

I never thought I'd get out of those craft tents.......is this building still standing and/or has WCHS guessed correctly?

The building is still standing and still in use, although not for its original purpose. WCHS did not properly and completely answer the question, although he is close.
