This thread is rather entertaining, good job .

I've never been to Bass Pro Shops but can only hope it'll attract other stores/restaurants to the new interchange.

Most likely, could have the Wal Mart effect & bring a lot of Traffic. Jacksonville will support this story way more than Nordstroms or Macys.

If we're not the biggest redneck city in the country, we're certainly in the 'hunt.' (nice play on words huh?)

What makes Jacksonville unique is that most of the other cities in the above link, are far smaller than we are. The very nature of larger cities tends to make them more progressive and open minded in their thinking, because of the influx of transient residents from all over the Country, and their corresponding wide mix of ideas and opinions.

Somehow, Jacksonville has managed to grow relatively large in size, while retaining most of its rural redneck nature.

Lucky us.

What I find to be true is that generally if somebody uses progressive and open minded in the same sentence, then they are the most closed minded of all ( ie: if you dont think like me your a total moronic hick or worse). As example of your knocking things that you have no clue about or understand at all, yet you draw conclusions on them and make statements about the same said things. Pretty damn funny and your insinuating that Southerner's ( Rednecks) are dumb. And as far as transients are concerned, they can go back where they came from if they are anything like you, because nobody here wants them or their smart ass (stupid) comments.

Jacksonville has so much potential but due to an idiot on the city council a lot of good ideas proposed by the mayor either get passed by or not approved.

They haven't even cleared an area for the store to be built yet. Construction is dragging there feet! That would be great if we had this store. Why are they posting false info?

Yes, someone please tell us this! There has been talk going on about the store being built and what has been done.........absolutely NOTHING that wife and I can see. It will be GREAT to have BassPro here! Been to the one just north of Denver, Colorado (I-70), the one in Concord, NC, the one in Savannah, Ga, the one down north of Key West/south of Key Largo and the one in Orlando. Going to that many, guess we really do like BassPro.
