I got updates on this last night.
Its all over the news. From the Chicagotribune to Fox New. also saw it on Fox News sunday.
Very sad and thought and prayers go out to the family.
Also i believe this is natural gas. the circumstances all point to this.
Which goes to say someone didnt smell the rotten eggs.

That may not be the case at all. It could've had something to do with the underground lines with no evidence of a problem above ground. Something like this happened around 96th Street in Fishers years ago, around 1998 or so. If memory serves, a construction backhoe hit a gas line and sent a surge of pressure right into the affected neighborhood, resulting in a catastrophic explosion.

This is a neighborhood and it doesnt look like there is construction going on.
so there could of been thieves stealing copper pipes. i have heard that so far. or a faulty line.
either way its natural gas and well get updated as it becomes available

The construction need not be in the immediate neighborhood for such an event to occur. We'll find out soon enough.

I flew from Atlanta to Indianapolis late last night. As we were descending into Indy at about 11:40 or so, I saw an enormous mass of flame from the window and a perimeter of sirens around it. The first thing I did when I got home was turn on the news. Thoughts are with everyone affected by this.
