My folks who live about 7 miles to the east, said they didn't feel anything, but they do know of someone in that subdivision who's sliding door was knocked off it's tracks. A couple of friends of mine who live north of the explosion over in the Raymond Ave/Keystone Ave, felt the explosion.

I recall seeing on the news, there was a white van near the vicinity of the house hours before the explosion. I believe they have tied the van to someone the boyfriend knows/is related to. I also read or heard that they determined the house was vacant? As in no furniture or anything.

It sounds like someone was upside down on their mortgage and was looking for a way to get out of it.

Don't know about "by the minute". It took cops about a year to investigate 1989 the K-mart incident.

I visited the sub on black friday before the Circle of Lights and one word: Devastation.
So sad to see this happen and what pisses you off more is this was INTENTIONAL.
We did lay flowers for the 2 people that died and the people who's lived are changed.

they think the explosion was started with a microwave remotely.

Boarding the cat was the first thing that got my attention. Boarding the cat because you are away from home for one night. really?

They said they had tried with no success the weekend before. That should have been a sign that this was a very bad idea! If you want out of the house do what millions have done and walk away and rent!

I just read in the Star that they recently increased the insurance on their home to $300,000 as well. That should have been a big tip off, too. They owe over $225,000 on two mortgages on the house, the house is valued around $230,000 and even went up possibly for short sale at $149,000 back in March but the owner decided not to sell it. And they recently lost bankruptcy protection because they stopped making payments to the trustee. Seems like a pretty clear cut case against them.
