Really? Just a lot of people interested in the new Kia Telluride given all the accolades it's received.

Depends on where you look at. Telluride is a brand new model, to be able to sell 60K units in a year is not a bad performance. I myself like the the exterior of Telluride, for me it is the best looking SUV. But even if I have money, I would not buy it especially on first release. Highlander and Explorer are already proven and tested in terms of reliability. Give Telluride few more years.

It’s been a year man. Even the old geopolitical Korean trade policies came back out again. It’s turning into Groundhog Day up in here.

Hard to believe how much the Telluride has impacted the competition.

Particularly since that's not a full year of production and availability is still limited. They would have sold more if they'd been available to be sold. Contrast with say the market flop Supra which is piling up. Partly that's just what buyers want which isn't sports cars but pretty hilarious how quickly dealers went from trying to get $10-20k markups on the Supra them now taking 3-5K off MSRP.

I’m at my local Hyundai dealership. They’re regularly selling their Palisades. The dealership can only order so many because of the small lot. Before the year is over they’re moving to their new location with a larger lot. Looking at their current lot now there are very few Accents. Almost half the lot is SUVs. The rest are Sonata and Elantra.

We live 50 miles from the closest Kia dealer, Geweke Kia in Yuba City, CA.

A few weeks ago, coming back from the Sacramento airport, I stopped to see a Telluride. I wasn't ready for a test drive and I told the salesman, but I wanted to experience the interior space. He said they don't have a single Telluride in stock, and whenever one comes in they sell it the same day. Maybe that explains the low numbers compared to the Pilots and Explorers.

these two crossovers are good options for middle aged soccer moms who can't afford real luxury SUVs.
