I am posting this for a friend.

My friend has a Hyundai Accent 06.

All of a sudden the lighter is not working or the other plug to charge a phone or plug the GPS>

He said he checked the fuses and they were all fine .

Any idea what this could be? Or how to find out/fix it ? thank you for your help

I would double check all of the fuses, that's generally the most common reason they won't work. Outside of that, it's not unheard of that the outlets themselves may have blown, but if both aren't working I would strongly suspect the fuses. Did he check all of the fuse blocks, including under the hood? Is anything else not working? Does your friend know what a blown fuse looks like? Even if it "looks OK" the cheapest and easiest solution is just to replace it and see what happens.

How did he check the fuses? visual? or with a multimeter? I would check the fuses again, replace them, they are very cheap

I highly suspect a fuse. I would make sure that he checked every fuse because my car has a fuse box by the drivers door and two separate fuse boxes in the engine bay.

Hyundai did some funky things with fusable links, located in the fuse relay box by the battery (under the hood). Could be tough to trace.

Whatever he is plugging in to the lighter probably shorted out and blew the fuse.

there is no change in there. there has always been plugs for gps and phone. so no way money got in .

my friend said there is ANOTHER fuse box besides the one he checked so he is going to check them both again.

Thank you all for the info and i will also have him read this.
