I am a former Honda tech - 22 years - and I'd love to get a new truck for carrying my kayaks or towing a small boat. I'd be much better served by a Honda Ridgeline than any other SUV like the Telluride.
And just now I spent 2 hours browsing a dedicated Ridgeline forum, catching up on the latest problems of the 2018-19 Gen 2 Ridgelines.
Way too many problems to list here, sorry. I will stick to Kia / Hyundai with their zero problems and 10-year drivetrain warranty.
or you could get a toyota tacoma and drive it for 400,000 miles without problems.

I had a Tacoma for ten years, super reliable, utterly boring, miserable handling and bone-breaking ride. The worst seats of any car I owned. With the rear drum brakes emergency braking in the rain was truly scary. I kept it until I could afford a better ride, but I won't repeat that mistake gain.

there's zero doubt about that. if I were to get an SUV, it would probably be a 4runner because it's indestructible. however, I don't get one for the reasons you stated. trucks, especially smaller ones, ride like trash. however, if truck versatility is what you need, one of the korean crossovers is not going to work. some of the full sized trucks have a really good ride, and you could probably get a nice F150 for the price of a telluride. I would get a highlander before I got a korean luxury SUV though. unless I planned on driving it until it fell apart. depreciation on korean luxury vehicles is pretty bad. toyotas have insane resale value.
Love his take around the 8 minute mark......... "someone whose mind is all mixed up...."
Apparently that would apply to nobody on this particular thread.
And so, I have come full circle..... I don't like the T-E-L-L-U-R-I-D-E on the front hood.
i will look at the Palisades once I feel good about the AWD issues being resolved.
Meanwhile I"ll stick with my little stable of vehicles that cover our range of driving needs.
Peace to all of you and thanks for your wide range of opinions.

I’m not a big fan of the amber DRL tracing the headlights. Otherwise, it’s a pretty slick looking ride.
The Palisade’s front end is starting to grow on me. I just wish they offered a hybrid. The new Highlander hybrid’s 35 mpg is pretty tempting.

I don’t like the way they made the chrome start coming up the B-pillar, and then it just stops. That looks weird to me.
Well darn, never noticed it, but now that you pointed it out I can't take my eyes off the ugliness. Why'd they do that?
I call it the “eye liner design”
