The cost to rebuild the arena would not be justified or even possible at this time. Are there that many shows now that require large arena's? other than the Rolling Stones. The possible planned amphitheater at Mid City will add a nice venue to the scene.
Yea MidCity will bring the A List performers to the city since we’re basically getting a world class coliseum.

Yeah, not the best initial lineup, but I think they're trying to cover a lot of different genres first. Winter isn't the hottest time of year for tours either, so hopefully the summer additions will be better.

Jason Isbell did sell out in 3 minutes today, I got my ticket. I like him a lot, but not an enormous fan. But will be cool going to the first show in the new hall since I've been looking forward to some new music venues since i moved here.

I don't get what everyone's fascination is with ugly tall buildings and why they want one sticking up blocking the view of the mountains and scenery that we have but I wish someone would build one so we can move on to wanting something else. Oh and don't forget a Cheesecake Factory.....need one of those too so everyone will stop complaining although most of us will never step foot in it. lol
I don't think you have to worry about 1000-foot buildings being built that would block the view of the mountains (and that's what it would take). 20-40 story buildings wouldn't block much view at all, and more than a couple of those won't happen for a loooong time, if ever. Besides, when you're driving you're supposed to be paying attention to traffic instead of looking at the mountains.

According to Maura Wroblewski, a Madison councilwoman, Culver's is coming to the corner of Wall Triana and Browns Ferry with the opening date of Spring 2020.

That would be great! It would be greater if it was south Huntsville!

Yea, the small screen they now have on both sides is way to small even for the current size. I was told that they have looked at putting a jumbo tron in the middle but it blocks the view from the people in the highest level seats.

I think the view of the mountain views with highrises in the foreground is very nice to look at.. I, for one, would like to live in a high rise on a high floor looking out.. i would settle for a view of the highrises. Buildings are nice to look at in their own right.. albeit, if they are architecturally significant.

high rises also bring a lot of pluses (density, more vibrant downtown, higher land prices for people who own property, they also bring areas out of blight).. So i do not think they are so ugly..

I noticed dirt moved this past weekend at that corner.
Looked at Culver's website and it reminded me of a better version of Dairy Queen.

It's a lot better in my opinion. And it's frozen custard which I love. Ate there last week while visiting my daughter. Nicer set up inside too.

I believe Frizzles was trying to be the Culver's of Huntsville....that place was pretty good at first, then went to crap. If I'm not mistaken it was owned by the person who owned a few of the local Dairy Queen franchises.
