This is generally the case everywhere in the world. It's not politically correct to say so, but the majority of people would rather live around other people who are similar to them.

I agree. Whether motivated by race, ideology, culture, core values, or what have you - "birds of a feather flock together"- people will usually self-segregate in one form or another. The key is that the segregation is due to personal choice and not lack of opportunity/discrimination. Houston appears no different than many other places in the country/world in this regard.

Culturally it's true, racially is false.

People around the World hang out with people that have the same religion, like the same sport, like the same music, etc.
People don't hang out with people just because "They have the same color of hair and eyes than I do"

Who do you think Jimi Hendrix would hang out with 50 Cent or Kid Rock?
