Nice to see USA Today (12/30/10) with a special 8-page Winter Classic section.

Hey, advertisers want to be a part of the event, thus the section.

Just hope the game is as good as the last Caps-Pens game.

Bah - sharks are playing uninspired this year ..... can't think of many games where everything just seemed to click

if the defense is playing well they don't score

if they are scoring they give up a bunch of goals

faceoffs have been good, PP is starting to heat up .... kill isn't bad

but still too many turnovers, too many gaps during the game, inability to clear pucks, allowing teams to get chances right in front of the goal, defensemen missing the net with their shots, sloppy line changes, etc

frustrating season so far - but still in the thick of things

couture has been a nice surprise .... hopefully demers can develop throughout the season .... i also like the potential for braun, although he definitely has some work to do

Thumbs up Great Winter Classic

Well the Winter Classic sure lived up to the hype. Glad to see the Caps take the game 3-1 with excellent defense especially in the third period shutting down the Penguins from even breaking in the offensive zone.

Hopefully this is the spark that carries the Caps to the Cup

Game was great...between periods was sketchy. The whole Bettis/Harris puck shooting thing was hokey.

I made no attempt to watch the Winter Classic because i refused to watch Bettman's Golden athletes play when Pittsburgh should have had no part in the Winter Classic. Instead I watched my Sabres comeback to defeat Boston 7 to 6 in a shootout. Plus Drew Stafford got a hat trick and a shootout goal. That game was more entertaining than the Winter Classic

Geez noticed that outside of Vancouver, not another Canadian team is considered in the top half of the league. Especially with Oilers, Loafs, Sens near bottom.
