And having the Checkers as the AHL team has done a lot of good for the 'Canes. I'm noticing more and more Canes stuff in Charlotte now than I ever have before.

Big win for Carolina last night over Atlanta. Loved Erik Cole's reaction to scoring the OT winner.

yeah - they're playing really well and niemi is in the zone

couture also set the rookie record for road game winning goals on this trip - notching them in consecutive games .... I really like this kid, especially since you can throw him on an energy line with 2 new additions to the team and they just perform - been a while since the team has had down the lines scoring and jump

hopefully they can keep it up in NJ and hopefully nitty can get healthy ... i definitely think niemi has won the starting post, but even with that an occasional rest is needed

also, douglas murray has been a beast ..... crankshaft is playing playoff level hockey right now ... sure he has his deficiencies, but the way he's blocking shots, smartly jumping into plays and throwing his weight around is nice to see

and the sharks drop 2 in a row on this never ending road trip

they completey dominated the devils, but lost their legs a little in the 3rd ...... crap happens sometimes and hedberg played a really good game (SJ had quite a stable of goalies at one point) ...... couldn't get the crucial clear against FL late in the game and got beat

next up at nashville - which isn't a style you really want to play at this point .... will be another tough grinder, but important in the western conference positioning

that will be the end of this 7 team road trip - get 2 at home (including the return engagement vs the caps) and then 3 on the road (penguins & redwings on back to back nights - thanks NHL)

if they can survive february they get 10 of 14 at the tank in march for the stretch push

Default Caps top Ducks in wild one!

If you didn't see the Caps/Ducks game tonight, you missed a good one.

While not a good game for both D's, plenty of offense and Semin with a hat trick including the game winner under the 2 minute mark.

Good to see the Caps win one against the Western Conference, wished I was able to see it in person.
