A new study was announced today inside the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery store as a backdrop: Swamp Rabbit Trail Impact Study, Year One . Lots of facts and figures. One that stands out: an average of 1000 trail users per day. Also, there are currently 2 businesses in what used to be an abandoned meat packing plant: the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery, and the TTR Bikes test ride center. There are 2 more businesses coming to that complex: Boyd Cycling and a massage shop.

does anyone have any news on this? I heard the neighborhoods it was going to run through have pretty much said no to the project, not that it should stop anyone, IMHO....
The hospitality tax revenues are providing $2.58 million for capital projects — mostly projects near or related to the Swamp Rabbit Trail — that include $630,000 for Cancer Survivor’s Park, $606,000 for a NEXT trail connector, $225,000 for Hudson Street trailhead, $125,000 for Greenville Tech railhead, $145,000 for trail rubber surface, $500,000 for public safety cameras and $350,000 for River Street Underpass.
New connector on the south part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail, near the Conestee Mill in Conestee. The connector leads from the trail to the Old Mill Cafe on Conestee Road. Great to have some easy refreshment options on the south end of the trail!
The Old Mill Cafe will be open from 11-3; it's been there since November of last year, but they're having some sort of opening celebration this Thursday.
Resurrecting this thread!
Any updates from those in the know about extending to Simpsonville? I know its in the works, but can't find a good example of the path they are thinking? As I have no idea about the roads, that may be a huge part of the the issue.
I sure am hoping that this happens! Seems logical. What a great addition to the GVL area.
