So you're saying he wrote that, and he put Michael Bloomberg's "Everytown" logo at the top?

Or did you mean he only wrote the tweet, and just happened to have a printout handy from a multi-million dollar organization built around banning guns? The organization you say isn't scripting the students, except when it is?

What they said today was not scripted, if you had listened you would have known that. They were very transparent about receiving organizational support from Everytown for Gun Safety, a gun law reform advocacy group that was founded in 2014 Michael R. Bloomberg and former Boston Mayor Tom Menino, and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a grassroots movement of moms that was founded the day after Newtown. You showed a phone script that probably came from Moms Demand Action, BFD.

Bravo!

All these young adults have known their whole lives is school shootings. They have been taught what to do, where to hide etc, been aware this could happen, every year.

You get 18 years of that education in your gut and you know far more than what we ever knew about the reality of what guns will do.

Don't anyone project your first 18 years of life onto these kids. I'm a mid born boomer. Vietnam ended right before I graduated. The scray stuff happend off our soil, not in my school.

I can not imagine witnessesing what they did on Valentine's day. There emotions are from PTSD, watching their class mates gunned down right in front of theri faces.

Agree.

Wow some of you are really scared, full of fear. Making up crap to try to take away the relevance of what is happening. Fear is your brain on drugs, ask an neorologist.

They don't care about 'your facts.' Only in your world does 'your facts' make sense. They care about reality, what they have witnessed and lived through. It's OK for organizations you support to get behind and do whatever, but when the tables, you cry wolf.

This should be an education for all of use. Those higher on the intelligence scale knows what that means. The rest won't listen, they are stuck.

I can't wait for midterms!

Am I the only one who finds this so refreshing??

This is what young people SHOULD BE DOING in our society.

They are our future. They have a huge stake in it. And yes, we will probably all have to die before they get what they need - gun control or at least a society that frowns on artillery in the hands of nutjobs.

...and what about the rights of the 99.999% of us gun owners who are NOT nutjobs, who have not broken a single law, and who are the ones paying the college tuitions of these kids?? You want to disarm the very people who stand between the life we are living now, and government tyranny.

Don't be so quick to give up your rights. Yes, they are YOUR rights too, not just ours, that you want to hand over to the the very bureaucrats that would love to turn us into the same kind of society you can find in the UK, the EU, Australia, and Canada. [shudder] Move there, if you like it so well.

They wouldn't like it so well. Statistics show that based on population alone (the US being much larger and much more populated than the UK, Germany, France etc.) those countries actually have higher rates of mass shootings, even though gun control laws are much stricter.

They need metal detectors and guards, just like NYC school kids have seen for decades. But, these kids will have to live with the consequences of disarming themselves and doing away with a constitutional right that has been a fundamental part of our democratic republic since its inception.

To be fair, I'm sure these kids know better than we do whether or not they are all nutjobs that can't be trusted to honestly, lawfully and responsibly handle weaponry.

David Hogg wants to ban guns from everyone but he frowns on other security measures that would make his fellow students safer.
https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/0...utional-rights

He is against the new mandate at his school that back packs have to be clear so security can see what is inside.
Hogg said “It’s unnecessary, it’s embarrassing for a lot of the students and it makes them feel isolated and separated from the rest of American school culture where they’re having essentially their First Amendment rights infringed upon because they can’t freely wear whatever backpack they want regardless of what it is,”

Sorry kid this is not an infringement on anyones first amendment rights. Have you ever been through airport security or how about to a concert?

He also said “One of the other important things to realize is many students want their privacy. There are many, for example, females in our school that when they go through their menstrual cycle, they don’t want people to see their tampons and stuff,”

Ok that may be true but there are also millions of law abiding gun owners that also want to enjoy their gun rights in private and they don't appreciate being labelled as would be killers just because they own a AR15.

He went on to say “What we should have is just more policies that make sure that these students are feeling safe and secure in their schools and not like they’re being fought against like it’s a prison,”

OK why not make the school a "gun free zone" , keep all the doors unlocked, let everyone come and go as they please but don't come crying to the world when some idiot takes out a knife from his private backpack and starts slashing kids.

It is terrible what happened at that school and others but the world is not ready for the star trek like utopia that this kid is preaching. I can't help but think if he was more mature that he would realize that the world still has many problems and not everyone is "nice" . We need security to protect what we cherish or it will be stolen or destroyed. it is just how it is.
