And that "of age" varies by state

I have no problem with either or both being prosecuted

Why should society be burdened with her irresponsibility and poor decision making? Let her suffer. When people realize what they're in for they'll be more careful. As for the "think of the children" crowd, are the kids being raised by these kinds of single mothers really going to turn out much better off with nanny state's help? The research says not really.

It's similar to the same thing no-fault divorce has led to the destruction of marriage as an institution. People figure "oh, well if things don't work out we'll just get divorced and go out separate ways". Take away that flippant attitude and people will be much more serious about the decisions they make. Bring back personal responsiblity!

What exactly is your point in bringing this up? For that matter why do you think statutory "rape" should even be a crime?

So you're idea is make her have the child she can't raise that you will have to help pay for? Or are you saying they should get no help and just everyone suffers? clarify on that point please. No fault divorce has only allowed women and men the eaze of getting out of unhappy marriages before. People now an option to leave without making the court believe it is justified. that along with more women working....was bound to happen.
