Yeah think I mentioned Philly earlier a lot. I have a few near me in Baltimore, they even sell whole Latin breakfast, pupusas and all that.

I got great $4 cheesesteaks at this one on Dickinson street in Point Breeze. Are they open late in Philly? They’re done by 10 in Boston.

Here’s a weird one in Boston “Grove Hall Convenience Restaurant” so littery, groceries and full restaurant? Or is it just fried chicken and empanadas?https://goo.gl/maps/xNgrZnMUvmHkS2vR7

How'd you know to stop by the papi's for a cheesesteak? You sound like a local lol. Ask any black/hispanic native where's the best spots and they'll tell you to go there.

I can't speak for the entire city, but the ones up in the Oaklane and Olney areas usually close at 9.

Bro the hood is universal.

I grew up in a city with bodegas, doesn’t matter if it was Philly or not. I also been going to Philly NYC Trenton etc since birth. I’ve gone with my dad, cousins, friends. My ex had a friend on Dickinson street. She told me they were solid. Maybe a little dry, but good flavor and neat (thank god) I wasn’t in the mood for hella grease. I’ve actually gone there 2/3 times. TBH Genos is pretty damn good- tourist trap or not. I been to like Abners and some other notable. But if I’m just in a rush in Philly for whatever reasons (I planned my baby shower there in North Philly lol) I’ll stop into a bodega. bodega doesn’t have cheese whiz though.

They usually owned by Arabs in Syracuse and are called corner stores.

Some examples: https://goo.gl/maps/QsJCzBdE1kjr7gQM6

Next block and across the street: https://goo.gl/maps/bXaQPaoUpXRzzbVC6

I’ll stop there, but that is just on the North Side of the city, which has quite a few more.

Do all bodegas have delis or serve hot food? To me that's the distinction between a corner store and a bodega type store.

In Minneapolis this is just a corner store.

But right across the street is a Somali store that serves hot foods like gyros and is more bodega like.

Its not a real bodega unless there’s a cat inside
