Last night was linguini with homemade marinara and cut up hot dogs in it. For those that watched the big bang theory you know what I am talking about. It's actually really good and I used premium hot dogs such as Boars head. "Now that's Italian"

Ugh. Mid 90s all week. I'm just going to defrost something pre-made from the freezer, maybe add some veggies.
We leave for camping next week and it should cool down by then, back for a day, to my sisters, 3 days on the coast, and back to my sisters. Luckily it looks like we are heading to cooler weather at all those locations.
Edit: Will be split pea soup, topped with sour cream, bacon bits, arugula and fresh thyme. DH made sourdough last night, toasted with irish butter, and turmeric / cumin pan fried paneer.

This afternoon at the Case abode on this Memorial Day: Hamburgers on the grill (with cheese, onions, pickles, and a specially-made ketchup/mustard sauce), baked beans, and Dublin Dr Pepper.
I went to Yankee Candle's flagship store yesterday. They sell everything there. One of the things I bought was an apricot ginger teriyaki sauce. I had some Cornish hens defrosting and I thought it might work on them. So I marinated the hens in half the bottle. I made a glaze with the rest and honey and tarragon. I brushed the hens down while cooking them.
I made roasted carrots in a butter maple sugar sauce. I rounded the meal out with angel hair in an olive oil garlic sauce.
