Last night was Thai takeout because we away from home in an area with a good restaurant, most was very good but didn't like sweet and sour shrimp, my fault ordering in a hurry because Google said they were closing in 30 minutes (they weren't). Luckily the shrimp were packaged separately so we just skipped the sauce and ate the shrimp and jasmine rice haha.
Tonight is asparagus, onion and cheese quiche with a green salad and garlic bread. Also making zucchini bread for dessert since the oven will be on, recipe from smittenkitchen.
PF Chang’s orange chicken and another rice bag to mixin with that. Mt Dew.
It was ok but I really liked the orange chicken from Sam’s and/or Costco.
I’ll have to look for that next time.
One Ghirardelli’s dark choc sea salt with caramel..
This is a Dutch comfort food dish, Stamppot, that my Mom always used to make. It's chiefly sauteed spinach with onions and garlic, mashed into mashed potatoes, and then topped with some gravy from the pan drippings of frying some smoked sausage, also on top. I think this is only the second time I have ever made it, and I am 63 - so not often! ;-) I have to say that seeing folks posting their dishes here motivated me to dust off an oldie but a goodie! I had this a lot when growing up, along with many Indonesian foods, as my parents both grew up in Indonesia and then immigrated first to Holland and then to the USA. This isn't as good as Mom's of course, but this is pretty good!
P.S I used 14oz of Polish smoked sausage, 1lb of chopped spinach and 3lb of potatoes... plus some store bought low sodium beef broth to help make the gravy - lumpy as I never make gravy and don't know what I am doing, lol, but it tasted okay. You could make a case for some Dutch beer to accompany, but I had some bordeaux wine and happily used that.
