What sort of flavour does it have ? Cheddary or more like cream cheese ? "Swissey"?
Is it the kind of cheese they use in Tex-Mex restaurants for the Nachos "cheesey" sauce ?
I'd say it's 'cheesy' in the way that normal strawberry ice-cream is 'strawberry-y'. Not like any real cheese, but still...cheesy. Kind of a mix of lots of cheese flavours, but none in particular. Maybe the melted cheese flavour of a medium cheddar, without the tang.
It is quite artificial-tasting, but I imagine kids would love it - sounds like lots of these lovely people grew up on it!
I love the small pack of the spicy Velvetta during football season. Mix with a can of Hormel chili with beans and you have a yummy, simple and quick chip dip for game watching.

Well not really "grew up on it" as it was always pricier than what we could have all the time. But it was part of growing up and in an exalted state up their with other specialty items that we usually had to do with out. There was a less expensive version that came in the same style box etc, (sort of a generic or store brand before they had store brands.)mom used to get that for Mac and Cheese casseroles.
My DP just came home from Portland and he stopped at the market on the fish pier....brought home a huge salmon fillet, and a similar sized pollack fillet and a beautiful slab of swordfish and fresh calamari. He said he wants to cook the calamari with oil and soy sauce....and I will bread and fry some of the pollack (pieces that I trimmed from the large fillet before freezing.
Decision made for dinner. We had leftover chicken for lunch, went to Papa Murphy's and picked up a "take n bake" pizza. Hopefully it's better than the only other choice in town-Domino's or Pizza Hut.
I opened a package of McCormick's Italian Herbed Chicken for Slow Cookers and mixed it with a can of tomato paste and two cans of stewed tomatoes, then poured it over boneless, skinless chicken thighs in the crockpot. I don't know what spices are in the McCormick's package and haven't been able to exactly replicate it, but it's very good and makes something sort of like a spiced up caccitore, but not quite. At dinner time, I'll make some brown rice to put the chicken over.
I made tall pudding parfaits for dessert: a layer of chocolate pudding, followed by a very thin layer of chopped oreos, then a layer of vanilla pudding topped with strawberries and then repeated. Will top with real whipped cream when ready to eat. Mmmmmm!
My son caught these fish this morning........I feel terrible that I do not like fish but he gives it to those who want it. They are bigger than my g-son
