It was spectacular! Tastiest water I've ever made.
Do you cook it on full power? Or do you find that low and slow works better?
OK, I'm being silly this morning. I'm curious what things anyone finds to be disastrous in the microwave?
For me it's any kind of fish!! ONE time in my life (and one time only) I had some leftover seafood of some kind, which I took in my lunch to work. After heating it up, that break room STUNK (and the fish was chewy so I threw it away) and everyone who came into the room groaned and asked what was that awful smell. I just joined in with their ughs and gripes! No way was I gonna 'fess up!
I just remembered something... does anyone remember the microwave cake mixes they used to sell in the 80s?
My mom would buy them occasionally. Yuck, but they were disgusting! Super spongy, slimy texture.
Eww no. I don't even remember seeing them.
I did try a chicken cacciatore (sp?) recipe from the cookbook that came with my oven. Tasted like warm mouse. Ick. Never tried cooking meat in there again.
I just roasted our asparagus in the toaster oven a couple of hours ago. I used a little sea salt, olive oil and grated garlic. After it was nice and roasted I topped with a little lemon juice and lemon jest. It was perfect with the ribs and the sweet potatoes. I liked the balance of the sweetness of the potatoes and the tartness of the asparagus.
I last used my microwave last night. I opened some canned whole green chilies and filled them with pepperjack cheese and heated it until the cheese melted, yum!

Not those, but I do remember the microwave cupcake mixes (complete w/8-circle plastic pan) sold in the 1990's.
In college I would make them using the lounge microwave, and boy were they yummy (in my opinion)-I miss those.
