I only use my microwave to heat food (if so), and honestly I would much rather heat it in my regular oven (even if it takes longer).

I don't buy microwavable stuff, and honestly have never had anything cooked in a microwave I liked. I never use it to cook.

I have it just in case, but I can say with no doubt in my mind I could easily pitch my microwave and still have a perfectly functional kitchen.

How often do you guys use your microwave ovens?

Microwaves are for heating/reheating in my book. I wouldn't use one to cook a meal. Not that there isn't a few things you may considered M/W cooked that are acceptable. Even to someone with my insensitive, dead palate! We use ours quite often usually for heating/reheating only! Microwave is a handy tool in the kitchen. We do however have an endless supply of totally unnecessary kitchen appliances and utensils. Doesn't mean I'm gonna toss 'em in the street though! All we need for function is a spoon ,fork, knife and a pot or pan with a fire source.

I use my microwave mainly to reheat things too. However, I do use it to steam corn on the cob in a microwave steamer. I don't buy frozen dinners. Oh and microwave popcorn too

I microwaved some corn on the cob tonight from yesterdays BBQ. NightHawks... forgot about those. Love 'em and just the right portion for me. That's right George ...no going back on the M/W popcorn!! Got to have it!

Reheat stuff I've already cooked in the traditional fashion. And my coffee.

Good for heating food without warming the kitchen, especially this time of year.

Mine gets used on a regular daily basis...reheating coffee as I shut the pot off almost right away, reheating leftovers, and I might cook frozen veggies in there and of course the popcorn...other use would be defrosting, as I forget to take things out of the freezer on time....

I mainly use mine to reheat coffee and leftovers. Occasionally to melt some cheese or soften butter.

George - you know I love you but microwave popcorn does not cross these lips!
