Of course this is easy for me to say, like most men, if vanity was an Olympic event I’d have a gold medal!
Yes, but my point was, that there was no reason for you to look like Methuselah in your mid-30's. Still, I do take your point, that the significant age difference could have raised eyebrows. Maybe not in France, but in jolly olde England, --probably. Even if you looked a little younger than mid-30's.

I'm 51 (on Thursday) and my boyfriend is 41. I look fairly good for my age - but I think if you were close to me you'd know that I"m somewhere between 45-50 (I mean, J-Lo is 52 - what do the 50's look like anymore anyway??) but he looks super young. We were in Florida about 3 years ago and the host at the restaurant referred to me as his mom! MORTIFYING!!!! He was wearing shorts and a t-shirt and looked particularly young that day but still!!!
I wish sometimes, that he'd look a little older

I think that I narrowly got away with it in England, but I KNOW that no one turned a hair in France.
I took Ms. New Jersey to Lens for a long weekend, and a cousin’s wife said, “tu es un homme chanceux Jean-François”, (you’re a lucky man Jean-François), while my cousin’s son said, “ou Adrienne, est-elle une fille chanceuse?” (or is Adrienne a lucky girl?).
Personally, I think that I was the lucky one, no matter where we were.
It’s all academic now, I was lucky enough to have my wings clipped by the nutty English redhead, and I’m glad of it.

Looking good for your age. Older women should check the amount of makeup they use. Some ladies look scary with heavy eye makeup and too much blush. Doesn't mean you shouldn't wear makeup as you age, just be careful....I'm 75 by the way.

I'm from Miami so I dress on the younger side but I'm also in the gym 6 days a week to keep it that way. I'll be 47 in May

It can be a real hindrance socially, and for some--professionally. I knew a woman who had been practicing law for 15 years, but when she wore her power suit for the courtroom, people would comment that she looked like she was wearing her mother's clothes. (It's amazing what people will blurt out.) A friend of mine when attending academic conferences, would routinely get shut out of the networking and hob-mobbing that went on, because she was mistaken for a student intern helping out. Everyone would be surprised to discover, that she was one of the featured presenters and a known authority in her field. Suddenly, after her presentations, everyone would want to talk to her, realizing that she was someone important and influential.

I think there are probably a lot of stories like this from women, and a few from men, as well.
Im 40. I get asked how my internship is going all the time

oh yeah, I am waiting for that one, too.

I am 45 and look like at least 40. Botox and workouts can only do so much.
He is 33 and looks like 25.

He is also shorter than me. He dresses really young with baseball cap. Right now I look more fit and buff but he is catching up by working out diligently.

We do look like mother and son, especially when we have the arms around each other and I am looking down on him . I told him we could get rich on MILF and stepson porn movies.

We already had a drunk guy yell at us "hey dude, she is so much taller than you. she could totally beat your ass." I told him I can beat his, too.

It is all kinda new and I really hope this doesn't bother him. He acts all cool but who knows. I wish he was older but then we spend the whole weekend in bed then I am glad he isn't older

Does this bother you? Do you, in turn make sure everyone knows you are not a kid or do you just leave it at that? I read somewhere that you are married but if you weren't would you look for guys your age or guys younger because you look younger?

Sorry, if this is too personal. I am just curious (and jealous).

So true. The "raccoon look" is the scariest of all. (black sever eyeliner on the lower lid)
