Sorry. My first poll. Im having technical difficulties. Please stand by.
Anyway. I posted on another thread about getting one as a present and it made me wonder who wears these articles of torture .
I have managed to wear them when I was young and stupid and would suffer for fashion. I cant believe I wore a turtleneck bodysuit with hip hugger bell bottoms. What was I thinking. Now that Im older just the thought makes me twitchy.
Well, only every once in a while, and not in a few years. When I wear one, I feel as though I am choking to death for the first few hours.
Now, if I know I am going to be outside.. football game or whatever, I will wear one. When was the last time I went to a football game? A lifetime ago, in the snow, with a turtleneck on, lol. Also a very stylish navy blue wool coat that came to my calves, with leather AIGNERS up my calves, almost to my knees. Black leather Aigners.
I don't care for the real turtlenecks. I like the ones that are the so called fake ones. I almost feel hemmed in with them on. I also don't wear pull over sweaters, I prefer to be able to take things off if the need arises. I like a cardigan, I would MUCH wear a scarf then a real turtleneck.
Thank goodness here in Florida, I don't have to worry about it.
I hate them. I feel as though they are strangling me. One funny thing, though..When my son was little he called them frog necks...he knew it was some kind of amphibian.
I like them, we keep our heat low in the winter and my neck gets cold! I have a wardrobe of true turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks in lots of colors and fabrications. Plus I have a long neck and they help disguise the giraffe thing.

I love them! When I was younger I absolutely HATED any clothing that felt constricting, and I cried and cried and cried whenever my mom tried to wrangle me into a turtleneck. I don't know when I got over that, but I did at some point, and now I can't live without them. I'm always cold, and I feel warm in turtlenecks without the bulkiness of a sweater. I also think they look super cute with jeans and boots on the weekend or with a pencil skirt during the week.
