But that's just another instance of men being seen as attractive when they cover their bodies, rather than showing them. How about finding a way to like men's appearance when they have a little skin on view, apart from their faces and hands?
The female body is a work of art. The male body is utilitarian. It's for getting around. It's like a Jeep.

I think some of us just have an issue with the feet being in sandals or flip flops,
now a shirtless man who's in fairly good shape
Nobody needs to be looking at my feet or anyone elses. Be comfortable people! Even the queen of England liked wearing culottes in her younger days. It should be a non-issue.
I don't know why but I do feel a bit strange when I wear flip flops+jeans (which happens very very rarely), but in the rare occasions when I'm sick I'm forced to wear them because it's the middle of the summer and my feet will start boiling if i wear shoes. But at the same time my legs are freezing because I'm sick so the only thing u can do (not being a fan of sandals) is wear flip flops+jeans. So yes I think that in some cases it's justified.
I don't care what people think. I wear crocs because they are comfortable and have good arch support compared to more fashionable slip on shoes.
Besides I still have to talk to women to get any action, and if I have no plans to do that and I'm just out shopping, what do I care about what people staring down at my feet think? I can count the number of times in my life I've bothered to stare at peoples feet at Walmart to see what they are wearing on two hands...maybe even one hand.
People should wear whatever they like provided it's a casual environment. I personally only wear flip flops with shorts as I don't think they go well with jeans on guys, though with girls they work perfectly fine with jeans, but those are just my 2cents.
People of every gender should choose footwear that they find appropriate. If you've got those gnarly-feet going on though, do the rest of us a favor and hit the nails salon for a couple of pedicures before you go out in flip-flops. You'll have sweet-feet in next to no time.
