I think "shopping vigilance" is just a passive-aggressive control tactic in a lot of relationships -- one or both partners are either hyper-critical or act completely incompetent as part of some sick co-dependent cycle. Truly bizzare.

Anyone remember the old Taco flavored Doritos? Not the weird new-fangled nacho-taco-chipotle-super-zest-salsa verde in the nifty optic mylar bags, but the old ones in the plain white plastic bag with the yellow and orange print? God, those were the BEST flavor Dorito EVER, especially when you got one so loaded with flavorings that it was almost black!! Now they just don't make them anymore

I would probably kill someone for them right now, total craving city!!

Edit: of course, they'd probably make me sick now that I've developed sensitivities to corn, but still....

Those were great! They might have them in Canada, they do have different flavors there than in the states. I'll keep an eye out for some when I drive south this summer.

You're not the only one who misses them!

Last summer while down in the lower 48 I found a gas station that had Black Jack gum, I bought a big pack of them. This summer I'll buy more of them when I find them.

I think they revived them briefly about a decade ago, but they'd changed the recipe or something and were a little too cheesey... tasted more like Spicy Nacho than the Taco I remembered.

There was nothing better than those old Taco Doritos with some piping Hot Chili con Queso (Monterey Jack with cream and Ro-tel "Tomatoes & Green Chile"). **DROOL**

Black Jackis vile (for me anyway), but I was happy to find some Teaberry gum which is another endangered species.

Ooooh and TastyKakes - which I can only buy online direct from the manufacturer unless I beg my cousin in Philly to send them to me (https://shop.tastykake.com/b2c/catalog/setCurrentItem/(layout=6_2_61_50_1_2&uiarea=2&ctype=areaDetails&n ext=seeItem&carea=0000000006&citem=000000000600000 00002)/.do (broken link))

They should have it at Cracker Barrel if there's one of those near you.
