Well, my DH is guilty of calling me from the store, but only in emergency because he can't remember which brand of cat food we get, or it's out of stock or something like that... takes about 3 seconds. I refuse to have lengthy chats with anyone on a cell phone while I'm driving, shopping, in public, etc -- it's just *wrong*.

I can't stand it when I get behind some idjit going slowly down the center of the aisle yapping on a phone. That type invariably has a cart full of cheetos and soda and frozen pizzas.

In the grocery store this guy is going isle by isle, leave cart in middle of the isle...taking pictures with his cell phone then says..."is this the right one?" after about 6 times of trying to get past him in various isle I was a tad peeved so a bit loud I said "EXCUSE me again" Poor guy looks at me an says (covering the cell phone so she can't hear him) "if I don't take a picture and ask her I could buy the wrong brand, then there's hell to pay" I just looked at the poor sop smiled my sweetest smile an said "I sure as hell hope she worth it!" the look on his face was priceless! Damn he was good look'n!

Geez -- I'm a stickler for the right brands on some things, but at least I took the initiative to add brand names/descriptions or pics of the labels to the shopping list when I send DH into town on a supply run. If he still buys the wrong thing then I might throw a can at him or something, but never really give him too much grief about it!!

Some women are just too high maintenance

Jeez, I'm glad I'm single and female, I buy whatever the hell I want. Can't even imagine having to call someone and ask what kind of beans to buy or whatever. I don't ever get a cart either. That's how you get stuck behind slow people. I just get the little basket, even if it winds up weighing 25 pounds by the time I'm ready to check out.

You really can't shop for 3 months, like we do, with just a tiny basket

And the only reason I'm particular about certain brands is that we both have food allergies... so the extra effort DH has to put into getting the right stuff directly benefits him (he has more allergies than I do). At least I've taken all the hard work of reading the labels and researching ingredients/additives for him LOL

I can get at least a week's worth of groceries in that little thing. I'm sure I'd have to adjust if I lived where you do, but I'm not really sure I want to live that far out, either. I'd love to stay in Valdez or another little town like that, where the grocery store (even if it's a pretty small store) isn't more than a bike ride away.

Well yeah, and a quick call when you forget something isn't what I was really referring to. More the type blueflames mentioned, which I've seen as well. Why anyone would want someone so helpless that they need to call about every item they buy is beyond me.
