Some of you guys sound like the skinny punks that got their asses kicked by smarting off to the football players. What a load of crap is being spewed in this thread. Sound like a bunch of ladies.

Chubby fat and fat obese are very different but both are unattractive. Why not spend a little extra time in the gym and eat a little healthier if it meant getting rid of those fairly prominent love handles.

The hot football players are usually the quarterbacks with the 32 inch waist. No one is looking at the fat linebackers with the 38 inch waist.

I assume (have been assuming) that we are talking about "waist size" here, as in jeans and pants, and not the actual waist circumference.

For the record, I'm 5'9" high.

I was just "fat" at my greatest weight and waist size of 250 lbs / 40". I actually never regularly wore above a 38", but 38's were often tight then.

I was "very chubby" when I wore 38 inches. I was about 230-240 lbs then.

Now I think I'm just chubby at 36 inches, or about 195 lbs.

I think my ideal weight (probably in the 160's, maybe the lower 170's) would coincide pretty closely with 32 inches, maybe 34. Of course, this is just losing weight, not "working out" and building muscle.

I'm 5'9" and wear 32. Lately, they have been getting tight despite cutting out the junk food and working out several times per week and I feel like a fata$$.

Back in my late teens/early twenties when I trained legs very heavy I wore size 34. Can't see going much higher than that and not being fat.

It's the biggest scam pulled by men. I play football, therefore I can never be deemed fat. These guys should invest in a full size mirror and adopt honesty as the best policy.

Like boobs, and bra-sizes, there can be slight variations according to body-type (and the brand of clothing). But "most" average-sized guys pushing anything over a 34" waist are paunchy.
Hey, no vendetta allowed

I'm 6'4" and weigh about 220lbs and I wear pants with 36" waists (I wear a 44 or 46 jacket). I'm absolutely not overweight, nor am I a giant bodybuilder. I would be larger than 32" waist, as measured, even at 5% body fat.

Conversely, I know guys that are my height and even taller that would be chubby at 32" waists. Like BMI, there just isn't an accurate "across the board" manner to apply it. The only true measurement is bodyfat percentage.

Wow. This defies Physics and even the laws of mechanics. Sir Issac Newton died in his grave all over again Young will need to recalculate his modulus on elasticity. Unfortunately, he's dead.

What's your height/weight, Antlers? I posted a pic of me in this thread on page 4. Do I look overweight to you?
