Currently my waist size is 31, I am looking to reduce my waist size by a few inches. I do interval training on the treadmill for 30 minutes 5 days a week. I walk at speed 4 for 2 mins and then jog at speed 5 for the next 2. I have started doing sit ips about 80 and leg lifts another 80.The treadmill says I burn 333 calories on the 30 minute workout. I try to eat in moderation but I do not abstain from carbs. I do have a sweet tooth too but again may be 1/2 hershey nuggets throughout the day. My question has anbody been successful in reducing their waist size? If yes then what is the best strategy. I find it hard to diet but I am willing to increase my workout.
Also I am a women in my late 30s with 2 c-section deliveries. My body weight is 115 pounds which is perfect for my petite 5ft 3" frame so I am not looking to loose any more weight.
I am not a woman, but doing a full body lifting routine along with a clean diet. Do some LISS Cardio for 20 minutes after the workout. Carbs are not evil so you are probably ok as long as it is the right carbs. Whole Grain, Whole Wheat and Rice.
Remember you can not spot reduce, so if your waist is 31 due to fat then you will lose weight based on what your body likes. Based on your height/weight I am guessing that you will not have issues.
To help with your sweet tooth look at eating a square of 70 cacao dark chocolate.

Health (and fitness and leanness) are at least 80% diet. Not meaning you DIET, but junk in means junk on. Of course different ways of eating work for/appeal to different people- it should feel nearly effortless after the first month or two of adjustment. For me, that's a paleo diet. Easy to keep the weight off- I've even gotten leaner while working out less. But, again, you have to find what works for you.
Lavender... lucky you.. what a busy woman... I keep saying Ill get back into it , so youve given me inspiration to go for it.... My sons a personal trainer , so Ive no reason not to..whats lotte berke. never heard of it..
OH thanks a lot Lavender, so not too much for my age then.... am quite fit but older.. oh Ive had a wee read, looks great, and passed it on to my daughter and daughter in law to look at..
Clean up your diet and focus on whole fresh foods. Drink plenty of water. Ditch the sit-ups. You do not have to do 80 of anything in order to be effective, and there are a ton of moves more effective than sit-ups for your waist area. Look for core exercises (you can google them, or find a DVD) and focus on those instead.
Oh and pay no attention to the calorie burn on the treadmill or any other machine. They are usually wildly inaccurate. I use it as a tool to push myself harder, but I do not think I am actually burning the amount it says.
Check your height. As we get older, we lose height and the internal organs have no place to go but OUT and that means a bigger tummy and waist.
I suspect that with the c-sections, the muscles that would normally hold things in tighter are less able to. I found that twisting type exercises after my children were born, reduced the excess flab in the waist area.
I kept the same waist measurement that I had in high school (24 inches) until I reached my late 40s. That's when I began shrinking and the waist muscle structure needed toning up, and I was lazy!
I don't think you need to burn a lot of calories. That won't help the muscle structure in the waist and stomach areas.

True tiny waists are usually God-given, and not created>>unless faked by the suction or scalpel.
You'd be better off just accepting that you are not, and will never be, a small waisted woman.
Enjoy/accentuate the good (natural) assets/ stuff you did get, and shake off the need to compete in an area you are unable to do so.
