I read somewhere that Russia's problem is not that it cannot feed it's poor people. The problem is that Russian oligarchs just cannot have enough. One would think that with their combined efforts they can turn mountains and take care of the country and people they robbed.
Of course they can't have enough, how else they'll be able to afford their London properties?
And so the BS goes on...
"The spending that he described to parliament fitted the pattern laid out by Guselnikov: it was being blown on luxury goods, rather than being invested to win influence over British politics or society. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be concerned about it. This money should have been paid as taxes and spent on hospitals, schools and other services in Russia. Instead, it had been stolen from taxpayers and splashed on an absurd array of goodies. This is the kind of money Britain has been happily fencing for decades. Even now, British MPs only seem to care about it because its owners might harm our national security, rather than because it should be returned to the people it was originally stolen from."
And "the people it has been stolen from?"
Of course they support Putin en mass and his armament, knowing that the West doesn't mean anything good for them.
So wait, are you telling me that people that are looking into this are stupid and don't understand what they are talking about?
Or can it be, that there is MORE to this law that you see ( or quote) here?
Same thing. There is no sense to compare "Chinese industrialization" with Stalin's industrialization, because the basis of Chinese industrialization are American investments and interdependence of China and US. ( And with that go the same ailments of Chinese society - amassing of money by a certain percentage of population, and flight of these money ( together with their owners) into the first world countries, be that Australia or Canada.
Talking about the cognitive dissonance here...
(It's not like only Americans have it...)))
And oh, Alec - first I thought that your "White Army, Black Baron" video was from "Malchish-Kibalchish cartoon. ( You know, the Soviet classics ( or may be you don't... )
It was not.
But since I found the cartoon anyways - here it is, enjoy. ( The story behind this cartoon was originally written by Arkady Gaidar and takes place in pre-during WWII Russia.)
Spot on. "Закон как дышло, как повернул так и вышло."
And there is no one out there to overturn this BS.
That's what "one party" system does for you.
