It’s difficult to get real news anywhere.

A map in The Guardian (UK) shows that Russian troops have made gains along the Sea of Azov, establishing a land bridge between Donbass and Crimea, surrounding Mariupol and Kherson. According to The Guardian the information comes from a military consulting company and there is no commentary, just toponyms, arrows, and colors.

My YouTube feed suggests a handful of China-based news channels, many of which cast Russia in a less negative or even a positive light. I wonder how long it will take for YouTube’s owners to block them.

Apparently Ukrainian and Russian negotiators have a meeting planned for today in Belarus. I would not expect any cease fire until reality on the ground stabilizes in some sense, and that could take weeks.
By the way, the information cited above from The Guardian is buried deep in its section on the Russian-Ukraine war.

Also buried deep in a Reuters article, citing Interfax, is a snippet that Russian troops have gained control of Berdyansk and Enerhodar in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhya region as well as the area around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. Reports from Saturday say that Russian troops also have control of Melitopol.

Readers are invited to locate these toponyms on a map.

The Guardian and Reuter’s are self-claimed independent UK-based media outlets, and Interfax a self-claimed Moscow-based media outlet.

I read a snippet somewhere that someone is pressuring Reuters about certain aspects of its coverage.

Now that the US unilaterally withdrew from the INF treaty a few months ago, I wonder if Russia will install short-range and intermediate-range nuclear weapons in the Black Sea littoral territories and Belarus?

Are they?
"When the dissolution of the Soviet Union took place in 1991, NATO had promised Russia that if it terminated the Warsaw Pact, they would not include countries of Eastern Europe in the defence treaty that were previously part of the Soviet Union. Russia decided to end their treaty in 1991 after the disintegration of the Soviet Union, with the hope that NATO would fulfil its promise. However, NATO DID NOT do so as it went on to include countries like Estonia, Poland, Romania and Latvia, which were a part of the Soviet Union under the Warsaw Pact."

In no way am I defending his actions, but let's look at this from a U.S. perspective for a moment.
Not only has Putin been lied to, but weapons have been placed closer and closer to Russian borders over the years. NATO has fostered mistrust. What if, on the other side of Trumps wall; this were occurring in Mexico?.
How would citizens along the border respond?, I'm certain the state of Texas would be up in arms; literally.

Georgian ship refuses to service a Russian ship - epic response. "Go **** Yourself" is now apparently the short and sweet answer to Russia's demands.

Well they are similar to the Nazis what can you expect, was Hitler sticking to the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact?

If you put words like "schmeisser" and "********" in the agreement it will be more readable for them lol...

With that being said Russia cannot maintain moral superiority given the cost of civilian suffering. Even if someone uses Sergey Nechayev own principle "the end justifies the means" I can't see how a death of a child will justify political freedom of small region somewhere...

And that's why Russian army is indeed superior at this point.

But there are disturbing reports coming in, that the Nationalists are killing the Ukrainian soldiers from the regular army, when they decide to surrender.
