Oh, the Willingham case will be brought up. As will his secessionist comments. But unless he's got a basement full of dead bodies, it's not going to make an iota of difference to the regular voter. It's the economy and jobs and nothing else. Nothing.

Dissatisfaction with Congress pretty much eliminates candidates like Paul and Bachmann -- people won't vote for another senator or representative. It's going to have to be a governor (unless it's Cain, but that's unlikely).

So you just need to determine which governor is most likely to win the GOP nomination, and that's your future president. That doesn't necessarily have to be Perry, it just most likely will be.

??? Those are staunchly republican views. They love shipping jobs to communist china and giving amnesty to illegals to take care of the jobs that cant be sent overseas. You can bet if Perry was elected the unemployment would be 20% plus, jobs going to communist china in record numbers, he would push for the minimum wage removed along with most labor laws, and stone cold amnesty would be granted.

That is silly. A governor has NO CLUE about foreign policy and we DESPERATELY need someone who understands that.

Governors don't make any better presidents than anyone else. Jimmy Carter was a governor.

Maybe if we weren't hated by the world and only had domestic issues to worry about and not big foreign policy issues and currency issues going on as they are, a governor would be ok, but we happened to be EMBROILED in BIG PROBLEMS WAY BEYOND THE SCOPE of a governor's experience.

What better person to deal with foreign policy than the longest-running Governor of the state with the longest foreign border in the US? Well, maybe the current president, if you think he's doing a good job -- but we are talking about a potential challenger here.

Not saying they make the best presidents. Just saying that people are going to vote a Governor president in 2012, not a congressperson, and probably not an incumbent president.

I get it, you believe Ron Paul is a game changer and suddenly the entire United States will "wake up" and realize he's so much better than everyone else. I understand where you are coming from. We gotta have dreams, right?

Again - why is he taking foreign policy advice from Donald Rumsfeld and Douglas Feith, of all people? Does that not alarm you at least a bit?

No one that would be inclined to support him cares about the statement he made in reference to seceding. You and I plus thousands of others know it was more tongue in cheek. Those who keep bringing it up are afraid he might actually get the nomination and win.

I am aware he was and still is a strong Nafta supporter. A lot of people were and still are. These are not the things that will hurt him, if he can explain his reasoning. I am sure he will. BTW, really look at how he feels about illegal immigration, add to this; Republicans do stick together, if he gets the nomination most will support him, independents are pretty much soured on Obama, Perry is a social conservative, which will draw the religious right if Bachmann starts to sink, he isn't so fiscally liberal that he will loose many, so, I have to think he is going to make a smash. Your pointing this out shows those who do not support him will say anything: he is too right, too left, too gay, too political: Do you really think there is a single candidate that will meet all our requirements or that we think is 100% correct? anyone who can answer yes to that is living in la la land.
