We adopted her last Tuesday and she threw up every morning since then. It's always around 5 or 6am? Any idea what would cause this? It's usually just clear but this morning it was brown. She eats good and drinks plenty of water. Dinner is usually around 5 or 6pm and then maybe one small treat later.

How old is your pup? It could be something as simple as the change in food to something very serious. Suggest you take her to the vet where they can check her out to be sure she is healthy. Its a good idea to always take a new dog to your vet for a "meet & greet" gets a chart started on them and set a base line for comparision for any future problems

Puppies tend to eat their own poop, the brown vomiting could be that. It could also be something else, really hard to tell. Is the puppy on any heartworm preventative? Up to date on shots....distemper/parvo? Rabies is given at 12 weeks. Have you checked her stool samples for any signs of worms? The puppy really should be taken to the vet to make sure that it is healthy. Bring a stool sample with you (fresh as possible).

If she doesn't have diarrhea you don't need to bring any stool.

Try to give her a dog biscuit or two at bedtime. This seems to settle stomachs. And did you change her food?

If she's keeping everything down the rest of the day, I'd definitely try the bedtime snack.

Yes, she is eating different food. She had all of her shots a few weeks ago and we are taking her to the vet to get her stiches out next week. She's 10 months old. What I find strange is that she does it the same time every morning. I emailed the woman at the rescue were I got here and she asked if she was chewing greenies or rawhide and if so to take them away. She said they upset a lot of dogs stomachs. I did give her both and she loves them, so that might be it. I took them away today so I'll see if she gets sick the next few days. What stinks is my other dog really likes them too and they don't make her sick, so she might not get to have them either if that's the problem.

I think it was the rawhide. Since I took it away she hasn't been sick.

Hi there!
I would not recommend Greenies or any raw hide to any dogs even if they seems to Not make doggie sick, this products can cause many many serious problems.

Glad to see that she is feeling better.
I would really feed puppy 2x's a day, morn and night. And then see how that goes. I just would hate them to have to wait all day to eat something. But then I think that free feeding/grazing is not a good idea either, but this is just my opinion.

Let us know what the vet says/sees.

I am glad she is doing better too. I agree if she is a puppy, under a year they really do need to be fed twice a day.
