But yeah. Point is, I don't see it as a worthy expense, especially when there are a plethora of other things I could use.
Yeah, I may be one of the few people out there who barely uses grocery bags. I shop a lot at Aldi, where you either have to bring your own bags or pay $0.10 for one of their heavy duty plastic bags that are just too big for poop duty. I found myself actually having to look for plastic bags recently b/c I had become so efficient at using canvas bags when going shopping!! On my most recent trip, I had the bagger double-bag everything, even the bread products!!

I'm gonna have to look into the produce bag idea. I heard a lot of them are biodegradable and I figure if they hold a couple of pounds of bananas or potatoes, they can handle a bit of poop.

If I ever own a house with a large yard, I am absolutely going the septic route and digging a hole in the ground for all dog and cat poop. Apparently you use the same chemicals you use for septic tanks and you can use the composted results on ornamental plants.

I know a million people have said this, but use plastic bags from the grocery store. I have 2 cats, so we have the cost of litter and we use a litter genie, and then you have to buy the refills for the litter genie and my little cat poops like there is no tomorrow!

All I can say is that it is one of the many costs you incur when you have a pet!

That's what I used to do, until they started charging $0.10/bag in the towns around here... so now that costs even more than buying official doggy bags.

But if the OP does live in a place where grocery bags are still free, that is definitely the way to go! Luckily my dog does most of his pooping around our apartment complex or the dog park, both of which provide "doggy clean-up stations" where I can still get free bags or a scooper. So neener-neener to both the grocery stores and pet stores who'd charge me.

Time flies when you've got your head down picking up poop!
