I agree...but they could be both. Members of ARM, who get employed to work on the farm. The Sheriff's Dept. is looking into it.

That is the way the AR's have done it in the past. Their members get hired, work for a few weeks until they are trusted enough to be able to sneak in at night, do the abuse, and film it.

That is an established behavior for some of the AR groups.

He said that three of the four abusers had been reported by other employees and fired before the video came out.

Everyone should want to know why the videographer did not report the abuse sooner.

That would've been the ethical thing to do...but it sounds like ARM wanted to go for sensationalism...not ethical treatment of animals.

I do t know if that’s the case, if you’re trying to build enough evidence to prove a pattern you can’t just release it after the first incident. Maybe 15 years ago an undercover operation was undertaken to expose abuse in Russian orphanages. Same thing, if they intervened the first time they saw anything they would fail in the bigger battle, which is not the weeding out of bad apples but institutional change. If you want systems to change, you need more evidence you do just to find a bad apple. None of the sweeping changes this farmer has now undertaken would have happened without the body of evidence collected and released.

The guy who actually owns the Indiana farm, where this happened, is a vetinarian, and he was shocked and upset at the video. And he said, at the time the video came out, that he wished someone would've spoken up rather than wait 3 MONTHS for the video to come out.

Think about that...IF the guys arrested weren't members of ARM...ARM who was doing the filming...allowed it to happen for 3 MONTHS.
Do you understand how undercover work happens? They have to work there more than just a week or two to collect video and not raise suspicion for their true reason for being there. Its just really sad that this happened.

And no, I do not believe an animal rights group abused those calves.

But if THEY are the ones dishing out the abuse...then it's all about sensationalism. If you have to manufacture the abuse...it's about sensationalism.

There is no indication that they were. Just rumors. If that’s true I’ll agree with you. But no reason at this point to think it is.

It's a dairy farm, not a government run institution. If abuse had been reported the first time, the abuser would have been fired and the problem would have been solved right on the spot. No reason at all to let the abuse continue for weeks or months. It's not like dairy workers are government paid union members who can't be fired without a trial.

Yes but this farm has instituted sweeping changes based on this that would not have happened with simply weeding out a couple of bad actors.
