They also predicted 1"-2" of rain yesterday, at least from the forecasters I watched. We got drizzle.

They are now showing a more westerly inland track for Nicole. This would mean less (but still substantial) rain for this region (more for places west of CT like NJ and northeast PA, which would now get the rain amounts originally forecast for metro NY and CT) but a little bit more wind than originally predicted for here.

Weather Channel website is showing some interesting comparisons to this storm and 1999's Floyd (such as the very hot dry summer, the big frontal boundary preceding the storm that enhanced rainfall totals, even the time of year) while noting/cautioning that of course Nicole is not anywhere near as big and strong to start.

Nicole already got its last advisory from the NHC, as its been absorbed by the frontal boundary plus the center is undetectable from another disturbance nearby. Hence me calling it a nor'easter with a name.

Come to think of it, it never should have got the name in the first place. The media just likes names though, and TD Sixteen is kinda lame.

2005 was the year with Tammy, as there were 27 storms in total. No other year came close to matching that.

It was windy here last night, but not really raining. Now that it's started raining, it's no longer windy. At least it's not raining hard, I don't think my area at least will have to deal with flooding unless it rains all day. It's nice that we finally did get rain, we really needed it!

Looks like the storm came up a little slower our way. It's still not raining here, but that won't last long I think. The front of this line is now at I-84 and Storrs.

Still really windy over here. Was really muggy last night, but having the windows open kinda canceled that out.

I have never understood why people hope for bad things.
