That is correct. Every single Weak La Nina we had since 1950 we had Blocking up north for the winter(Negative NAO).

Will this be the first year without it or will history continue?

Coastal Storms could be happening again... Problem is, you need the cold air locked in place otherwise its just a NorEaster with Rain.

Weather Summary Next 15 Days

Clear next 5 days. Average temps to slightly above.

This weekend: Watch your Barometer go up... A 1045 dropping from Canada to Rockies will shift east but weaken to a 1035 which is still a Strong High pressure.

Its going to be a beautiful weekend.

There's the 1045 High out west for tomorrow.

December 6th: Next system to affect us. Warm temps = Rain but a strong cold front will bring cold air down would turn the rain to snow and accumulate in most places on the 7th.

December 10th: Next system looking more consistant now... Looks like a coastal storm...Air would be well below normal and "right now" its showing all snow..

Enjoy the next 5 days... changes are coming..

Current Temps. Looks like Winter already... 30s and 40s down south. 20s up North. Teens & Single Digits in Canada. 60 in Maine.

Once again the south is cooler then the NorthEast but that Ridge is shifting East into Atlantic finally.

There's a refreshing chill in the air today with temps holding in the 40s. It was a nice brisk late autumn day to take a walk. Looks like we'll have more of the same the next couple of days. Enjoy!

Still waiting for my Trees from Arbor Day foundation but they are still waiting for a hard freeze in North Carolina. Usually they ship end of October/November.

I was tilling soil today.
This was for Tuesday the 28th...Looks like we had 2 record breaking events and a tie in NJ. Didnt have a doubt about that...

Next weeks storm from NWS. Sounds like the flow comes back we get above normal again Sunday Monday and we could drop below normal depending on the track of the system next week.

Models still fighting on it. GFS has Warm temps/Rain. Euro has Fridgid temps/Snow. Canadien is in the middle.Rain/Snow

Quote:
TEMPS...NEAR NORMAL SATURDAY SUPPORTED BY MEX/ENSEMBLE NUMBERS...WITH
A WARMUP EXPECTED SUNDAY AND MONDAY DUE TO RIDGING...RETURN FLOW.
TEMPS SHOULD FALL BACK CLOSER TO NORMAL TUESDAY...THEN BELOW NORMAL
BEHIND THE SYSTEM BY MID WEEK NEXT WEEK. OF COURSE...THIS DEPENDS ON
THE EVENTUAL TRACK AND SPEED OF THE SYSTEM

What I love about winter is that we are never out of the game from December - March. Winter may look bad at the plate for 8 innings and the opposing pitcher could be tossing a shut out and then in the bottom of the 9th, Winter grabs hold of a hanging curve ball and hits a game winning walk-off grand slam!
