I give up with Decembers. Just ridiculous how March and April can have more sustained cold and snow

I was in Ridgefield today and did a doubletake. No snow stuck to pavement in New Canaan this season yet there was piles of it in Ridgefield?

What kind of airmass is coming? Look to the West. Those aren't wind chills. Obviously it wont be sub zero but that airmass is coming to us. Coldest in decades

For Christmas the low wont be but the High will be Top 5 coldest. Coldest in 22 yrs

27 F ranks in top 5 coldest highs for Dec 25? Man, that's rather wimpy!

I remember Christmas 1983 in the Midwest. Highs were below 0 F in Central Indiana. Now that was frigid.

Well, it is for that particular day. 25° isnt a Top 20 for coldest December day. 20° isnt even a Top 10. But I hate comparing a coastal spot to the MidWest.

For Hartford the coldest Christmas day was 8°.
Record coldest max in December was -1° in 1917 and 1° in 1942.

And we're not factoring wind here correct? Could be a top 5 of all time (which does surprise me actually) but I'm also seeing 20mph wind gusts. So it'll be even colder. Maybe "feels like" temps around 10-15?

Ah, that's more like like I was expecting to see. But you're right, BDR quite different from BDL.

Hopefully, the winds aren't so bad around here, the power out plus the cold could be bad
