Heavier snows are still west of us but moving East towards us. After sunset you'll see more in the way of accumulations

Snowing at the CT coast while raining in NYC and Long Island.

Looks like 3-5" fallen in Western MA and in some higher elevations areas of Hudson Valley

I'm looking at my deck here in Bethel, looks to be about 3 inches or so. Had a friend we were visiting last night say he's hearing a Nor'easter by end of week

Since December 1st there's been 37 posts in this thread and 28 were by me. Only 9 of them were by others. Of those 9 only 4 different members.

UNACCEPTABLE There's more posts about drugs, booze and viruses meanwhile I bet you mention the weather in public when chatting with somebody. It's not hard to post your thoughts about weather or what is happening outside where you are.

...well, since you asked

I think we got an inch (if that) here just NW of Boston. But our town's Facebook group was going berserk with the number of reports about accidents and road conditions. I mean, why make fun of Southerners when Massh***s can't drive in 1"?

Yes since you asked lol

I'm looking at about 3 inches this morning. I think I'm the only one in the neighborhood who took the snowblower out so far at least. I like easing into the snowy season this way rather than starting off with a 10+ inch bang.

I think that is because there’s not a lot to discuss. You do a great job providing us with accurate weather information so it doesn’t leave a lot to debate. I know I always check your forecast and believe it over the media reports. Thanks for doing that. Jay

That's what I'm realizing in the forums. Not sure if its an age thing but seems like people rather debate and bicker. Shall we get that going then? lol It would be nice to read a simple post like "its cold". or "nice to see the sun today". Small talk is fine, doesn't have to be a forecast or a deep conversation. Just trying to keep this thread alive.

Regarding the big storm Thursday-Friday...I'm watching

GFS and Candian trended colder. We need the Primary mid west storm to stay south more so the secondary storm forms more south and stays off the coast Friday.

We can't get a coastal hugger!

Latest Euro has little more qpf, (0.99" vs 0.87") Colder at surface for front end, warmer at 850 during, same temp at surface Friday afternoon

We could see a front end thump of snow first then rain. We'll see how trends go

I'm happy to do my part. Just keep in mind that I travel a fair bit, so not all of my "off the cuff" weather observations may be pertinent to New England.
