For Bridgeport, CT

Euro12z says just rain.

GFS12z says rain to accumulating snow Friday. A lot of snow north of Merrit/I84. LOLOL

Here we go again. See Euro on the left here? Temps stay above freezing for the event. GFS on right continues the precip when temps crash below freezing.

GFS Snow totals. LOL

VERY COOL!!!!!! Snow Depth Added to the map!

Of all the Climo Sites reporting snow depth in the U.S... Islip has the 3rd most with 22 inches on the ground as of yesterday morning.

Providence had 15 inches.
Bridgeport has 10 inches.
Hartford has 6 inches

Here's the list of locations with half foot or more on the ground...

Friday... nobody believes the GFS. Lol. Poor GFS.

Quote:

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...
No significant changes to the long term forecast overnight. Forecast
remains close to the the current NBM. It should be noted that 00z
GFS is rather concerning given the amount of sleet/freezing rain
potential for Friday, but this seems to be an outlier of all the 00z
guidance. Because of this, have decided to stay away from this
solution
. The 00z ECMWF, seems to have trended slightly cooler, but
not nearly as dramatic as the GFS. Its a trend that will need to be
monitored.

Recent Euro12z says Bridgeport, CT goes below freezing at the surface Friday 1pm and by 7pm at 5000' goes below with a little precip around. (less than 1/4")

Rain to Ice to Snow?
