How bad is it in your part of Connecticut so far? At least3 to 4 in the north end of Middletown, from what I can tell.

Any thoughts on next weekend? After our brief warmup it gets cold again and Euro is suggesting some more snow, but this one would be a lot more inland than the coast where some rain may also mix in.

I never like it when the cold has to catch up to the precip. It's gonna be rain Thursday. We'll see if there's enough precip as the air cools down.

Euro says yes it will change to snow and accumulate a few inches Friday.

GFS says no but it will turn to freezing rain instead.

As far as who's the most above normal compared to their normal....
Top 40 of all U.S Climo Sites that report snowfall.

Atlantic City leads the pack, 33.2" of snow is 286% above their normal.

Bridgeport! Normal snowfall is 14.3", they have 21.0" so that's 46.9% above normal.

Islip, DC, Baltimore, Providence, Boston, LaGuardia, JFK make the list too.

I did a quick calculation on weather.com comparing this January to last January.

January 2021:
Average high 37.35 degrees F
Average low 24.7 degrees F

January 2022:
Average high 33.68 degrees F
Average low 17.71 degrees F

So if you have been thinking this January was colder than last year, you are correct.

Last January vs This January. Yup...

Above normal last year... Below normal this year and that's not including today or tomorrow.

So it looks like we're right around normal. It seems like that hasn't happened in a few years.
