Any idea on time frame of the Storm? Think be able to get out in the morning or is this going to be an all day thing?

Those are phone/cable wires, not electrical wires. There was a similar jerry-rigged setup down the street from me after Irene and it survived Snowtober and Sandy. So who knows?

Maybe it's just recency bias but seems we are on the line more this year.
Connecticut packpotted in February-March 2013 where Westchester and NYC got little and Connecticut got clobbered.

So after looking at the Canadian and Euro models its pretty much status quo. Euro brings over an inch liquid and its just very cold at 5000' so its all snow which means over 8".

It's the American models vs the non American. Euro is always more reliable.

Here is the latest Euro surface map for 7pm tomorrow. The storm is right there. Models having trouble EXACTLY where to place that center which is going to be crucial.

Here is the latest Euro snowfall total map..its based on 10:1 ratios so deduct 2-4". I think it will be 8:1 southern counties

Since it's a popular question (as should be) I'll put it in red so it stands out.

  • Snow starts "lightly" tonight and scattered (not every location!). Some spots might have an inch by sunrise maybe more.
  • Snow starts to pick up and be widespread after sunrise
  • After lunch and it will come down harder. Thats when it will start accumulating faster.
  • Afternoon and Evening will be the peak with intense banding and wind.
  • Ends Thursday night.

Sigh. Last year just about this time, I was in England. Maybe a week later, a big snow storm hit CT but there I was...in England. Sitting on a beach eating fish and chips. Waltzing around through fields of bright yellow daffodils. Sidewalk cafes, primroses growing wild in the hedgerows. And I got to gloat to the people back home. That was LAST year. Bah humbug. Well, they've had a colder spring this year but it's never as bad as it is here.

We can confirm water and atmosphere conditions on Mars but we can’t predict Earth weather

Ugh, thanks. Storm ends Wednesday night but I saw scattered snow showers around Thursday so I typed Thursday night.
