This is disgusting. Humid stuffy.... pick adjective. It's freaking November and 70s. Our falls in CT don't exist anymore. Occasionally you get cold but they have become very different from 20 years ago.

You want some cheese to go with that wine? . Our weather has always had ups and downs. Look up the records..it might surprise you.

Sure 70 is warm but we will go into a nice pattern for you after next week. Slightly below normal for an extended period.

Ive been hearing pattern change since september lol. Not buying it. Climate in northeast has changed. I dont need averages or records to tell me that. Just walk outside. Its disgusting the last 3-4 years that we have 70 degrees in November.

Number of times in November Hartford has hit 70 or warmer. Once so far this year. 4 times last year.

COMMON to hit 70s in November!

Not to start a debate but there's been significantly more ups than downs (though some of the downs like Feb. 2015 have been spectacular), especially with nighttime lows. NYC has never had 16 months in a row above normal until now with little end in sight. And the last time the entire globe averaged out was below normal for a month compared to previous data was in 1985 (though I admit I'd like to see how the data goes on that for only those stations that existed during the entire "previous data").

That said, many years have had a 70+ or so in November as Cambium said, it's more the frequency that seems to be increasing.

It's not 100% how the media makes it, but there's still something there.....

We are the only part of the whole world where that has happened. There are theories on that too, I'm not completely sold on them but they are not 100% unsound either. And (as has happened in other parts of the world) you can have increased winter snowfall with increased temperature, if the temperatures are still generally running below freezing (not the case here obviously where even 100 years ago the averages were near 32)

You keep ranting how every month we keep from going below normal because of some sudden warm streak. Yes weather is random, yes most of the high temps in and of themselves are not unprecedented but when enough time passes it can't completely be coincidence. I don't think it is purely what you call "you know what" but it's just as naive to constantly think there is no way it doesn't have at least some hand in it. Just too much going on for too long.....

Makes no sense..the averages and records DO tell it all.

Yeah, despite my rant, I'll agree it's not going to consistently be 70 degrees for an extended period of time during December, January, or February (of course it is possible to be it for one day, and yes, that has happened in the past so that's not what I'm talking about......). This isn't even consistent now, it's a day or two (and if it were 80 I'd be a lot more impressed on the "almost never before" front). Either way, even if any or all of those months are "near record warm" they will still be colder than it is now.
