Radar & Metar loop last 4 hours

No stations in Southern NY reporting snow...or even rain yet. All that virga wasted moisture as cold air is still around

It's still below freezing at 4000', we'll see where the flakes fly.

It's not doing anything right now, but when I woke up about 45 minutes ago, it was snowing. New Fairfield.

Thanks! Yeah, lots of Virga going on but some spots might see the flakes as you did. Moisture is very light above so its just evaporating coming down. I do see some darker blues so within those areas is where you'll be lucky to see any flakes until the atmosphere primes up more

Not even Poughkeepsie reporting anything yet.. Soon though

It started up again in NF. Just trace amount on top of my BBQ, on patio table, and on glass end table on the deck. That's it though -- nothing on the grass or walkway

Thanks again! Yeah, not expecting much or any on the road in CT I think unless above 1500' then roads might be slicker?

Anyway - the bulk of moisture is still back in PA but even that may remain light.

Curious what you end up with before it changes. If you are around, measure the snow before the changeover.

Teterboro, NJ was reporting sleet now changed to drizzle. Elevation 23. That may happen. You may get sleet for short time then change to rain. Warmer air is moving in.

Timing was off by 4hrs. If this moisture didn't enter in after sunrise more locations would be getting snow.

Lets see what happens

Don't forget... Smart Phone App called MPing. NWS looks at this with wide eyes. Report what you are seeing. Its helpful

Or view online: http://mping.nssl.noaa.gov/display/

Some spots getting snow.

My wife said that sleet is mixing in in southern Westchester (I'm in Stamford right now and I don't see anything yet).
