Just got rain going good in Clinton. We can fuss but it's much needed. I can feel the temp drop, too.

There was hail in NJ and NYC earlier from that 2nd wave.

Final wave coming now. Each wave was a bit further south as the front moves south of course.

But we'll get some more rain from it and then dry out and cool down.

Max of 50s tomorrows! Then back to 60s mid week.

What those 5 days did to the monthly average is a joke. Here's a look at the departures for BDR. Notice, those 5 days were more anomalous than the cold we had last week. 5 days the max and min temps were double digit above normal vs 0 with the cold.

because of that hot week, we'll end up well above normal for the month. If it wasn't for that hot week, we would of been normal or even slightly below normal maybe? I haven't looked that deep into it.

But you can clearly see what that hot period did. I can't stand that because we look back at monthly averages and don't realize it was just 5 days that really did it.

BDL is even worse. 6 days the max temp was double digits above normal! Compared to the 1 double digit of cold last week

Another swift-moving area of low pressure will dive south from Canada into New England Sunday. This system might bring a few showers, with perhaps enough downward momentum of the cold to introduce a few wet snowflakes into the mix. Certainly, as modeled now, the mountains of northern New England would have snow from this system
First mention of the "S" word in any forecast discussion re: Sunday. This is via WFSB. I'd be willing to bed that most of the state will see measurable snowfall sometime in November. The pattern seems to be active, and temperatures will be trending cooler, in accordance with most long range forecast models.

After next weeks cold, it's looking like the warmth returns.

It ended up
4th warmest November on record since 1948 for Bridgeport.
6th warmest November for Hartford since 1905.

It was almost such a lock (including winter) that with a strong El Nino the above normal months were easy to predict.

NOW ..............

Polar Vortex has split .. Expect a cold mid November to end of month. We'll have to see how warm beginning of November is but I am calling for a Below normal November.. FINALLY... a below normal month! ??
