It also doesn't look like the storms are going to give us a relief from the humidity.

Dew points Mid 70s on Long Island. 73 now here and the sun is poking through. Get the oxygen tanks.

Muggiest of the year

Notice Groton. Damn!

I found the 79 dewpoints on that map in Maryland even crazier!

Does that ever happen here?

Not sure if the 79 was 100% accurate. I've seen some dews off by 1-3° but who knows. Would of had to check some sites nearby to get a better feel for its accuracy. I believe BDRs max was 81 but probably just touched that. I could be wrong. It might be 78. I will see if I can find it.

Next week is torching. Worse than this week.

We are in a New pattern of more hot & humid days then not, as opposed to previous pattern of more Dry & Seasonable Days then not

Today............................... Saturday-Monday...................................Next Week

Yesterdays storms. These are actual (and good) reports of the rainfall. Don't think its abnormal to drive a short distance and see nothing or a lot of rain.

More reports should come in at 8am. Refresh the 3rd link

Another look...

North Stamford 0.74". South Stamford 1.16"
Armonk 0.10" White Plains 1.60"

Just a matter of luck and storm setup.

As a kid I always thought that when it was raining at my house, everyone was getting it. Not the case, especially with convective stuff. And even a "line" of storms will only have a small area of embedded heaviest stuff. Not all rainfall is even.

So how are you liking the mugginess ?

Dew point still above 70 here. (72) Temps in the upper 70s. Overcast morning.

Wanna compare?

Northeast & Midwest Dews VS Southeast and South.

I truly don't know how they do it. Length of time and higher.
