No complaints about Summer so far as we near midway point!

No heat waves
Only 2 days with 90+
Not much rain
Lots of sun
Most importantly NOT HUMID!

Looking at the average temp for June 1 - July 12.... we aren't cooler than last year but I don't remember last year as being a favorite for me.

Here's why ..........

Amount of water vapor in the air..... This graph shows the amount of water vapor in the air. In other words another indicator of how humid it is.

NO WONDER WHY I'm LOVING IT. Most days this summer has been below normal and dry!

6am temps.. 50s not far from me. 62° here. No complaints!

and it looks like this weekends "heat wave" has been toned down. No days forecast to 90 now at coast or western 84 corridor..not sure about Hartford side. Will still be a warm weekend upper 80's a couple days but hey ..its summer..if this is the hottest it gets we can consider ourselves lucky ..long term Accuweather does not show any 90's at all in August. In fact I'd say half the days are below 80. Lets see if that pans out at all.

Yeah, been watching that over past few days. Models have been letting up on the torch BUT they have it pushed back now. The ridge axis is luckily in central and Southwest US so far! We don't want a SER(South East Ridge) or a full blown Eastern Ridge! That's when we get those constant 90s and HHH!

but yeah, still gonna be warm. it's summer. Not bad so far!

Another 1/4" over night.
Lots of overnight rains lately.. Perfect. Lots of 1/4" rains too.

Quick hitter but all my windows are wet so must of been very heavy.

Looking at my stations data.. Looks like the heaviest came 3:10am to 3:30am then another quick burst at 4:15am.

So, how do you guys like this tropical like airmass?

My windows are all fogged up inside.
My envelopes are sealing on their own.
My candy is sticky.

Wow it's muggy out there.

In my backyard...73°F

11am. We are at the highest dewpoint of the year. Bridgeport highest is 73° on the 7th and 14th. Only 4 times this year above 69.

I'm at 74°. Doesn't feel oppressive with temps in the 70s (in the hot/humid sense) but definitely feels wet and heavy outside.

Yellow outline is Severe Storm potential. Lots of dark green numbers today.

NYC (JFK) now 76°.

The 76 at JFK is confirmed with other nearby stations.

More stations

Bridgeport Max-Min Dews.

Highlighted are the days we hit 65° or muggier. Not many so far so good! But notice.. up...up...and away! Our lowest minimums have been higher and higher

Rain woke me up at 5:30. So much for the clothes I left on the line overnight!

I had to turn on the AC before I left. Cats looked miserable. It was over 70% both upstairs and down, though not hot at all.

Waiting for the rain! NYC and Westchester got hit hard.

As promised. The update is in. Not a big change from last week except for MA and into NH and that's because we had some rains here and there.
