Good thinking about Jet stream although I believe its actually north of us right now with a west flow from Mid West and wouldn't that mean the Rockies, desert SW and Plains would get the polluted flow from California? I think there's more too it but good thought. I'm sure there's a Google answer but I'm in my lazy mode.

Here's the Jet stream later this week. Note it's a west flow then as it dives back down and provides some relief for us this weekend.

Went running this morning and already by 10am feels miserable... Thank God for Trees. People who live in tree less areas are flat out insane. Maybe more than people who live down south.

160+ days this year its been over 88° in parts of Florida. F__ that

It might be simply this I-95 corridor is disgustingly over populated and polluted.

Here's another look .... Look at all those hot, humid and hazy areas of the U.S. None have air quality alerts except us.

The data is out there at https://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=...6810&submit=Go

Unfortunately not every town is captured, but Westport, Bridgeport and Danbury are reported for FFC. Despite the county-level warning, (and as I predicted) there is wide disparity between BPT and the suburbs.

As of 11am the AQI index is the following:

FFC Predicted levels of 140 (Unhealthy for sensitive groups)

BPT 59
Danbury 38
Westport 24

Interesting, and makes a lot of sense! Although you can feel the "unbreathable" aspect of the air when the dewpoints are above 65 it's nice to know it's not "as polluted" as closer to the urban cities..

Wish Stamford would stop building those buildings and adding vehicles and population there. Only adding to it.

11am Hartford Temp 88°, Dewpoint 65°, Heat Index 90°. Wind Calm.

I rode 40 miles this morning. It was heavenly. 2 weeks ago I still had arm warmers on.

12pm Heat index. Feels like low 90s already in CT spots.

Current Dew points. Not Oppressive yet (except Groton) but with temps in the 80s, 60s DP feels soupy & muggy

Will Bridgeport get their 1st 90°?

Dewpoint dropped as temps went up. Good! and interesting. Sun & heat drying out the air?
