Further on up by the Housatonic River turned into this ice rain leaving this thin black sheet across the roads.

Than pass Seymour mix of ice and sleet. At least .5 inch on the roads zero traction slipping a bit.

Weather went from 34 to 29!
I was half kidding about worrying about my drive to work! I'm more shoreline if I can just make it out of my neighborhood!

Raining but air temp 32. Watch those slick spots!

Only 0.40" of sleet/snow accumulation. Still on ground. Slush.
Rain ends early afternoon.

Danbury, Waterbury, and Meriden reporting Freezing rain. Heads up! It's now above freezing above our heads so anywhere it's 32 or below it's going to be ice

Woke up to snow on the ground. I am not sure if it is an inch out there or not.

Backroads were driveable but slick, Main roads were just wet.

Down in Greenwich more green showing.

Tough ride on the roads in Glastonbury and Hartford this morning. Pouring sleet from the time I woke up until about 7 am when it transitioned to freezing rain and rain. The roads are slippery and rutted with frozen slush, including state roads. Highways are fine- just wet for the most part.

Turns out (since someone asked earlier) that since it is frozen when it falls, sleet and ice pellet accumulation does count in the snow totals. As of midnight, JFK and EWR actually recorded 0.1" of measurable (everyone else, including BDR show a trace). This morning's "spotter reports" show many CT spotters with up to an inch of accumulation so it will be interesting to see tonight if BDR recorded measurable this morning.

I don't believe ice accretion from freezing rain counts in the totals though, but I may be wrong.

Cold air held in ...was surprised! Measured 1.2 inches of a slushy sleety mess in Danbury area so looks like Danbury got its first 1 inch reading but we will wait for official.
